Location: Oceania, continent between the Indian Ocean and the South Pacific Ocean


Capital: Canberra

Religion:
 predominantly Christian but people are free to practise any religion they choose



Population: around 21 million people - Caucasian 90%, Asian 8% and around 2% Aboriginal and other indigenous tribes (note: more than 43% of Australians either born overseas or having one parent who was born overseas.)


Climate: goes through the 4 seasons (spring, summer, fall & winter) cycle every year.


Government: democratic


Languages spoken: dominantly English, 'Strine' (Australian Slang), languages spoken by the immigrants (eg. from Europe, Middle East & Asia), Aboriginal languages.
